A Personalized Birthday Story

It's from http://www.bethanyroberts.com/BirthdayStory.htm

Once upon a birthday, there was a young boy named Mr. Programmer. Mr. Programmer was 29 years old and lived in Singapore, . Mr. Programmer was walking home from Work, thinking about birthday cake and presents. Suddenly a giant Cheeky jumped out from behind a and pounced on Mr. Programmer! But as he was about to scream for help, Mr. Programmer realized the Cheeky was only licking his face. In fact, the furry kisses tickled! Mr. Programmer giggled and decided to keep the giant Cheeky as a pet. And on the way home he decided to name his new pet ''Micky.''

When Mr. Programmer and Micky finally got home, his Mom, Mom, was standing on the front porch. And was she surprised to see a Cheeky following Mr. Programmer home! ''What in world is that?'' cried Mr. Programmer's Mom. ''It's a giant Cheeky ,'' answered Mr. Programmer. ''I can see that, Mr. Programmer, but what in the world is it doing here?'' ''It's my birthday. Can it be my new pet?'' answered Mr. Programmer. ''Oh, dear,'' said Mr. Programmer's Mom. ''I wouldn't get your hopes up. You know your father doesn't like Cheeky s. But, it is kind of cute. And it is your birthday. I suppose you can keep it while I finish frosting your birthday cake.'' And with that, Mr. Programmer hugged Micky and led his new pet into the house--even though he knew his father would probably not let it stay.

Once in the house, Mr. Programmer and Micky played Age Of Empire, until Mr. Programmer's favorite television show, '','' started. Then Mr. Programmer forgot all about watching Micky. But half way through , Mr. Programmer heard his father, Dad, shout, '' Mr. Programmer ! Get in the ...NOW!!'' Mr. Programmer rushed into the , where his Dad was pointing toward the . ''Look what your new pet did!'' he said. Mr. Programmer looked. There were balloons and streamers, hanging from the ceiling. Mom and Dad were wearing party hats. But right in the middle of the , were the messy remains of the birthday cake! ''I'll clean it up, Dad,'' said Mr. Programmer. ''I'm sorry, Mr. Programmer, said his Dad, ''but a giant Cheeky is not a good pet. You'd better find it a new home.''

So Mr. Programmer looked to see where Micky was hiding. Soon Mr. Programmer found Micky crouched beneath the table where Mr. Programmer did his Music. ''Come on, Micky, you have to go. And hey, don't look at me that way, I'm not the one who ate the cake and made a mess!'' said Mr. Programmer. And Mr. Programmer started to lead Micky out of the house and down to the local Cold Storage. Mr. Programmer knew the store owner would find Micky a good home. So after hugging Micky and saying good-bye, he thanked the owner of Cold Storage, and walked backed home. Mr. Programmer didn't notice the Cheeky was following! Back home, Mr. Programmer sadly slurped six Milk shakes. But Mr. Programmer's father reminded him about the mess he still had to clean up. Halfway through the clean-up, Mr. Programmer suddenly noticed Micky in the doorway. ''Micky! You're back!'' he shouted. Micky hopped up and down and gave everyone furry, tickling, BIG kisses. Even Mr. Programmer's father giggled. ''I guess that Cheeky can stay,'' said Mr. Programmer's Dad. Micky was a birthday pet after all! Mr. Programmer's Mom baked another Chocolate cake, and they all celebrated. What a happy birthday it was! The End.
